03 / Practicalities

Before you apply.

  • The school year usually starts in late August or September, so a move from a January-start school needs planning.
  • Taiwan and Singapore share a time zone.
  • Schools set their own assessments, English requirements and interviews.
  • Students need the right visa or residence status (to be confirmed).

Guardians for students under 18.

  • Rules on guardians for students under 18 in Taiwan: (to be confirmed)
  • ELT does not arrange guardians; we give you a list of providers to choose from (to be confirmed), and say if we receive a referral fee from any of them.

Partner schools.

Where we list schools, partner schools are marked. ELT may receive a referral fee from partner schools; this does not change the order in which we suggest schools. See school applications.

04 / Questions

Families ask.

Are lessons in Mandarin?

No. Our lessons in English, Maths and the sciences are taught in English.

Can lessons continue after a move to Taiwan?

Yes, at the same hours, since the time zone is the same.
