02 / Beyond the subjects
Assessments and the core.
As well as six subjects at SL and HL, Diploma students complete internal assessments and the core, including the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge.
- Internal assessmentsDesigning the task, method and comments on drafts, in line with the IB's rules on outside help.
- Extended EssayNarrowing the research question, organising the essay and using sources well.
- Theory of KnowledgeDeveloping the essay and exhibition from your child's own subjects.
03 / Timing
Across the two Diploma years.
IB schools in the northern and southern hemispheres follow different calendars and exam sessions (to be confirmed). Within those, each school sets its own deadlines, so your coordinator plans lessons around your child's school calendar, internal deadlines and mocks. Subject choices and the first internal deadlines are natural points to begin.

04 / Questions
IB lessons: common questions.
Which IB subjects are available?
English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with more as tutors join (to be confirmed).
Will the tutor write or edit the IA or Extended Essay?
No. Tutors teach and give feedback within the IB's academic integrity rules, and the work stays your child's own.
Can lessons fit around a school in a very different time zone from ours?
Yes. Lessons are booked in your child's time zone, and reports reach you wherever you are.
Can you promise a particular score?
No. Lessons are planned towards your child's targets and progress is reported honestly.
