English lessons for Singapore students at international and British-curriculum schools, from upper primary to IB Diploma and International A-Level. A specialist tutor teaches one to one, online, working on reading, analysis and essay writing in the form your child's course assesses.

Following: UK Key Stages 2–3 · IGCSE / International GCSE · IB MYP and Diploma · International A-Level

## What we follow.

| Curriculum | What lessons cover |
|---|---|
| UK Key Stages 2–3 | Reading, grammar and extended writing in the years before IGCSE |
| IGCSE / International GCSE | English Language and English Literature: close reading, comparison and timed writing |
| IB MYP and Diploma | Language and Literature and Literature courses: textual analysis, the individual oral and written work (to be confirmed) |
| International A-Level | English Literature and English Language at AS and A Level |

We do not teach the MOE syllabus (PSLE, O Level or the Singapore-Cambridge H2 A-Level). Lessons follow international and UK curricula only.

## Topics families ask about.

- Unseen text analysis and commentary
- Structuring an argument in an essay, and writing to time
- Set texts: themes, context and close reading
- Preparing for oral assessments

## Weekly, with a record.

1. **Assessment**: A first lesson shows where your child is now against their school's course and exam timetable.
2. **Weekly lessons**: One-to-one, online, at times that suit Singapore after-school hours and weekends.
3. **Records and reports**: A written note after each lesson, and a report to parents every (to be confirmed).
4. **Exam seasons**: Lessons shift to past-paper practice and revision before school tests and external exams.

## Who teaches.

English lessons are taught by subject specialists whose background, subjects and curricula, and qualifications checked by ELT are shown on each profile.

## About English lessons.

**My child speaks English at home. Why English tutoring?**

Lessons focus on exam skills: analysis, essay structure and writing to time in the form IB, IGCSE or A-Level assess. Everyday fluency is not the aim.

**Can lessons follow the set texts from school?**

Yes. Send the reading list or course outline, and the tutor plans around it.

**Do you help with coursework?**

Tutors teach the skills and give feedback on drafts in line with the school's and the exam board's rules on outside help. They do not write work for students.
