# Physics for international curricula.

Source: https://www.eltschool.org/intl/en/tutoring/physics

For families outside Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan whose child studies physics on an international or British curriculum. A specialist tutor teaches one to one, online, connecting the ideas, the mathematics and the way exam questions are marked.

Courses we follow: IGCSE / GCSE · IB MYP and Diploma · A-Level (International and UK) · AP

## The courses we follow.

| Course | What lessons work on |
|---|---|
| IGCSE / GCSE | Physics as a separate science and within combined or double-award science |
| IB MYP and Diploma | MYP sciences; in the Diploma, Physics at SL and HL, with the internal assessment |
| A-Level (International and UK) | AS and A Level Physics, including practical skills |
| AP | AP Physics courses (to be confirmed) |

Lessons follow international and British curricula. We do not teach national school syllabuses or national university entrance exams.

## Where families often start.

- Forces, motion and energy
- Electric circuits and fields
- Waves, light and thermal physics
- Handling data and writing up practical work

## A weekly rhythm, written down.

1. **First lesson**: The tutor checks your child's current level against the school's scheme of work and the dates of the next exams.
2. **Regular lessons**: One to one and online, booked in your child's local time zone after school or at the weekend.
3. **Notes for parents**: A short written note after every lesson, and a fuller report every (to be confirmed).
4. **Before exams**: Lessons move to past papers, timed answers and revision ahead of mocks and final exams.

## Who teaches.

Physics is taught by subject specialists. Each tutor profile shows their subjects, the courses they teach and the qualifications ELT has checked.

## Physics lessons: common questions.

**The maths is what my child struggles with. Is that covered?**

Yes. Tutors teach the maths each physics topic needs, and the coordinator can add separate maths lessons if that helps.

**Is there help with the IB Physics internal assessment?**

Yes, within the IB's rules: designing the investigation, processing data and comments on drafts.
