# Biology for international curricula.

For families outside Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan whose child studies biology on an international or British curriculum. A specialist tutor teaches one to one, online, with a focus on accurate terminology, data questions and extended answers.

## The courses we follow.

| IB MYP and Diploma | MYP sciences; in the Diploma, Biology at SL and HL, with the internal assessment |

Lessons follow international and British curricula. We do not teach national school syllabuses or national university entrance exams.

- Cell structure and biological molecules
- Inheritance, DNA and evolution
- Body systems and homeostasis
- Ecology and interpreting experimental data

## A weekly rhythm, written down.

1. **First lesson**: The tutor checks your child's current level against the school's scheme of work and the dates of the next exams.
2. **Regular lessons**: One to one and online, booked in your child's local time zone after school or at the weekend.
3. **Notes for parents**: A short written note after every lesson, and a fuller report every (to be confirmed).
4. **Before exams**: Lessons move to past papers, timed answers and revision ahead of mocks and final exams.

## Biology lessons: common questions.

**Isn't biology mainly about learning facts?**

Knowing the content matters, but marks also depend on explaining processes and reading data. Lessons give time to both.
