# School subjects in English, wherever you live.

Source: https://www.eltschool.org/intl/en/tutoring

For families outside Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan. Native English-speaking subject specialists teach students at international and boarding schools one to one, online, in English, Maths and the sciences, following IB, IGCSE, A-Level and AP courses. Lessons are booked in your child's time zone, fees are in USD, and one coordinator keeps the learning record from stage to stage.

Lessons follow international and British curricula. We do not teach national school syllabuses or national university entrance exams.

## Families in countries without a local ELT site.

1. Students at international or British-curriculum schools following IB, IGCSE, A-Level or AP
2. Students boarding abroad, in the UK or elsewhere, whose parents live in another country
3. Students moving between countries or schools who need to keep pace with a new course

## Subjects on offer.

AP availability depends on tutors (to be confirmed). Further subjects are added as tutors join (to be confirmed).

## Begin with the course your child is on.

- **IB** (PYP · MYP · Diploma): Diploma subjects at SL and HL, plus support for the internal assessments, Extended Essay and TOK.
- **IGCSE and GCSE** (Cambridge · Pearson Edexcel · UK boards): The two years before IB or A-Level, through to the exam series.
- **A-Level** (International and UK): AS and A Level with Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel or UK exam boards.

The same coordinator from stage to stage: Upper primary · Entrance tests · IGCSE / GCSE · IB, A-Level or AP · University applications

## Tutors can change. The record stays.

Your coordinator selects the tutor, agrees a plan with you, reads each lesson note and sends you a report every (to be confirmed).

When your child changes course, school or country, the coordinator briefs the next tutor so the work carries on without starting again.

- A plan agreed each term
- Every new tutor briefed
- Lesson times follow your child's time zone

## Finding a tutor and a time.

1. **Same course**: A tutor who teaches the course and exam board your child's school uses.
2. **Workable hours**: Tutors teach from the UK and from Japan, which covers a wide range of time zones between them. The coordinator matches a tutor whose hours fit your child's after-school time or weekend (to be confirmed).
3. **Right fit**: If a match does not work, the coordinator proposes another tutor and passes on the record.

## Fees in USD.

Families outside Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan pay in US dollars, per one-to-one lesson. The coordinator, lesson notes and reports are included. Your contract is with ELT Education Inc. in Japan.

## Tutoring: common questions.

**We live in Hong Kong, Singapore or Taiwan. Is this the right page?**

Families in those markets have their own site sections with local fees and contacts. You can find them from the [list of markets](https://www.eltschool.org/#markets).

**Do you teach our country's national syllabus?**

Lessons follow international and British curricula. We do not teach national school syllabuses or national university entrance exams.

**How are lesson times arranged across time zones?**

Lessons are booked in your child's local time. When you enquire, tell us your time zone and the times your child is free, and the coordinator matches a tutor whose hours fit.

**How often are lessons?**

That depends on your child's goals. A plan might start with one lesson a week, with extra lessons before exams if you wish. The coordinator suggests a monthly plan after the first consultation.

**Can you help with IB internal assessments or the Extended Essay?**

Tutors help your child plan, research and improve their own work within the IB's rules on outside help. They do not write anything for submission.
