# One plan, in your time zone.

Source: https://www.eltschool.org/intl/en/approach

ELT School plans your child's learning as one continuous programme — from a first assessment, through school subjects and the next school, to university applications — with one coordinator keeping the record. You can join at any stage. Every lesson is one to one and online, and tutors in Japan and the UK make it possible to find times that suit your family's day.

## From a first lesson to university.

| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Trial lesson | After a free consultation, a paid trial lesson with a subject tutor shows your child's current level |
| Regular one-to-one lessons | School subjects in your child's own curriculum, and the skills entrance tests depend on |
| The next school | Preparation for [boarding school](https://www.eltschool.org/intl/en/courses/boarding-school-preparation) entry tests such as [UKiset](https://www.eltschool.org/intl/en/courses/ukiset) and interviews |
| Choosing schools and applying | A shortlist, the deadlines and the documents each school asks for |
| After the move | Academic Tutoring continues at the new school, in the new time zone |
| IGCSE, IB or A-Level | Subject lessons through the courses that lead to university |
| University applications | Course choices, the personal statement and interviews through [UCAS](https://www.eltschool.org/intl/en/courses/university-admissions) |

## Tutors in Japan and the UK.

| Tutors in | Time zone | Often fits after-school hours for families in |
|---|---|---|
| Japan | UTC+9, no daylight saving | East and South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand |
| UK | UTC+0 (UTC+1 in British Summer Time) | Europe, Africa and the Middle East; for the Americas, often at weekends |

This is a general guide, not a promise of particular hours. Your coordinator combines tutors to match the times your family prefers, confirms every lesson in your local time and re-checks the schedule when clocks change in your country or the UK.

## The coordinator's role.

- **Matches the tutor**: By subject, curriculum and the hours that work for you.
- **Keeps the record**: A written note follows every lesson.
- **Reports to parents**: Every (to be confirmed), in (to be confirmed).
- **Manages handovers**: A new tutor reads the record before teaching.

## How we suggest schools.

Suggestions are based on fit: how your child learns, their interests, the curriculum, the support each school gives, and your family's wishes on country, size and cost.

ELT may receive a referral fee from partner schools. We tell you which of the suggested schools are partners, and a referral fee does not affect the order of our suggestions. Schools that are not partners are suggested in the same way when they suit your child.

## Two possible routes.

These are illustrations, not set paths. A child at a British-curriculum international school abroad might start weekly maths and English lessons in Year 6, prepare for the ISEB Pre-Test and 13+ entry to a UK boarding school, and keep the same coordinator through IGCSE and A-Level to a UCAS application.

A child following the IB at an international school might take Diploma subject lessons in the evening, local time, with tutors in Japan, and then plan UK university applications with the same coordinator, without changing schools.

We are not an agency that only places students, nor a general English conversation service: one coordinator plans the teaching and the admissions together.

## Start with a consultation.

Tell us where your child is now, where you live and where they hope to go.
