ELT School — one-to-one online lessons with native English-speaking specialists. Founded in London in 1984.

## Founded in London in 1984.

ELT School began in London in 1984 as ELT School of English. As we added academic subjects and admissions support, the name became ELT School.

Today all lessons are one to one and online. We teach executives and professionals worldwide through Executive English, and families in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and other countries through Academic Tutoring & Admissions. [Read our full history](https://www.eltschool.org/intl/en/about/history).

## One brand, two companies.

| Name | What it is |
|---|---|
| ELT School (ELT) | The brand under which all lessons are offered |
| ELT School of English | The former name, used from the founding in London in 1984 |
| Executive English | ELT School's one-to-one English for executives and professionals |
| Academic Tutoring & Admissions | ELT School's one-to-one tutoring and admissions support for families |

## One to one, with a plan.

- **One to one**: Every lesson is with one tutor and one learner, online.
- **A coordinator**: A coordinator plans with you, matches the tutor and reviews progress.
- **Records**: A written note after every lesson, so each lesson builds on the last.

## How we choose tutors.

We match tutors to the learner's situations and goals, and check qualifications and experience before a tutor is introduced. A tutor's profile shows only what ELT has checked and the tutor has agreed to publish. See [Executive English tutors](https://www.eltschool.org/intl/en/executive-english/tutors).
