# Boarding school entry, as one programme.

This course is for Hong Kong families preparing a child for boarding school entry, in the UK or another country. A specialist tutor prepares the entry tests and interviews together with English, Maths and science, and one coordinator plans the years before entry and the support after it.

## From the first lesson to the first term.

1. **Assessment**: A first lesson shows where your child is now in English, Maths and reasoning.
2. **Building the base**: Weekly one-to-one lessons in the subjects the tests and schools assume.
3. **Tests and interviews**: Practice in each test's format, timed work and interview practice in English.
4. **Applications**: If you wish, [school applications](https://www.eltschool.org/hk/en/courses/school-applications) support from shortlist to offer.
5. **After entry**: [Academic Tutoring](https://www.eltschool.org/hk/en/tutoring) continues at school, in your child's new time zone.

## When to start.

It can help to start a few years before entry — for example in the upper years of primary school for entry at 13 — so that English and Maths are secure before test practice starts. Your coordinator works back from each school's registration deadline and Hong Kong's September school year. We do not promise a result or a fixed length of preparation.

## Tutors for these tests.

Each tutor profile lists the tests and subjects they prepare, qualifications checked by ELT, and the hours they can teach in Hong Kong time. ## Fees in HKD.

Lessons are priced per lesson, with the coordinator, a written note after every lesson and reports to parents included. Mock tests and other items charged separately are listed on the fees page.

## About preparation.

**We have not chosen a country yet. Is it too early?**

No. The early years focus on English, Maths and science, which every school assesses. Your coordinator helps you compare countries as the plan develops.

**Do you guarantee a place?**

No. Schools decide admissions. We prepare your child and support the application.

**Who arranges a guardian if the school requires one?**

ELT does not act as guardian. We show you a list of guardianship providers so that you can choose, and tell you if we receive a referral fee from any of them.
